1923 Star and Yellowstone Favorite Are Teaming Up for This NEW Modern Western!

EXCLUSIVE: Two of Taylor Sheridan’s most popular shows are colliding as Yellowstone actor Hassie Harrison is set to join 1923 star Brandon Sklenar in Paramount’s modern Western thriller The Rescue. Old Henry director Potsy Ponciroli will helm the film from a screenplay by John Fusco. The plan is to begin shooting this summer.

Ponciroli will produce along with Shannon Houchins and Cliff Roberts. Down Home will exec produce. The logline is being kept under wraps, but The Rescue is a modern day Western, in which a rodeo cowboy’s skills are put to the test outside the arena.

The film has been on high priority going back to when Skydance was developing prior to the Skydance-Paramount merger and marks one of the first films the new regime has greenlit. Production is set to start top of next year.

As for Harrison, she will next appear in the thriller Raven, starring alongside Anthony Mackie, Pablo Schreiber, Ben Foster, and Ron Livingston. Directed by Tom Sierchio and produced by Corey Large, the film follows a former Detroit cop turned hitman whose final job sparks a violent chain of revenge.

Harrison most recently appeared in the critically acclaimed IFC thriller Dangerous Animals, which made its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, directed by auteur filmmaker Sean Byrne and starring alongside Jai Courtney and Josh Heuston.

She also returned to her comedic roots in television with guest appearances in Season 2 of HBO’s Rough House Pictures series It’s Florida, Man as well as the Netflix comedy series Tires.

Prior to that, Harrison completed her third season on Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed Western phenomenon Yellowstone, appearing in the recurring role of barrel racer ‘Laramie’ in Season 5 on Paramount Network.
