1923 season 2 didn’t unfold the way audiences predicted. 1923 season 1’s ending set up an all-out war for the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch when Spencer Dutton arrives home. However, 1923 season 2 has centered on Spencer and Alex’s arduous dual journeys across the United States to reunite in Montana.
As of the end of 1923 season 2, episode 5, neither Spencer nor Alex have made it to Paradise Valley, although the Duttons will soon be aware their prodigal son is coming home to lead their fight against Donald Whitfield. Teonna Rainwaiter (Aminah Nieves) has been hunted in Texas by Father Renault (Sebastian Roche) and Marshal Kent (Jamie McShane) in a storyline seemingly unrelated to the Duttons’ struggles in Montana.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Strafford (Michelle Randolph) learned she and Jack Dutton (Darren Mann) are pregnant. With only two episodes to go, the pieces are falling into place for 1923 season 2’s endgame, which will hopefully feature Spencer and Alex’s reunion, as well as the resolution to the war for the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.
