No, it wouldn’t include any Duttons, but familiar themes and landscapes would draw us in, just like they did on the Kevin Costner series. The Madison actually began filming, and maybe even finished with a cast that was truly impressive.
Then January came and nothing. The quarterly earnings calls for Paramount have been a great source for updates to the Taylor Sheridan universe — it’s how we found out Season 2 of Landman would get pushed to December, for example — but Q1 and Q2 calls revealed nothing about this show.
Tulsa King, a new Beth Dutton show that might be called Dutton Ranch, Mayor of Kingstown and a CBS show with Luke Grimes set to be called Y: Marshals all advanced instead. It’s like we were being fleeced.
Did ‘The Madison’ Get Canceled?
The Madison did not get canceled, at least not officially. Shooting for the show did occur in Texas and New York late last year, and a second network called SkyShowtime even agreed to run with it in Europe.

What Is ‘The Madison’ About?
The Madison is a present day show that follows the McIntosh family, who’ve just moved from New York City to the Madison Valley in Montana. It’s a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection,” per The Hollywood Reporter. There are not many plot details beyond that, although cast announcements have hinted at a recent death leading to the move west.
Michelle Pfeiffer is going to play Stacy Clyburne. She’ll be the lead actor, and on screen she’ll bring daughters Paige McIntosh and Abigail Reese. Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox (ABC’s Lost) and Elle Chapman are other actors secured for the show. Rumors of Kurt Russell joining were never confirmed.
When Does ‘The Madison’ Begin?
Originally scheduled for 2025, the Madison’s premiere date is now in limbo. Beyond scattered information at Wikipedia, we could only find an updated IMDB page that lists 2026 as a new premiere timeline. Information found there is typically as reliable as Google AI, so don’t count on it.
