Yellowstone’s Finn Little Shares Major Update on Beth and Rip Spin Off Series

Yellowstone star Finn Little has delivered a thrilling announcement about the highly anticipated sequel to the popular Paramount Network series. The contemporary Western drama featured Kevin Costner as rancher John Dutton, balancing his paternal duties with his ongoing fight to protect his disputed property.

The fifth season took Taylor Sheridan’s show in a startling new direction when John meets his demise through assassination, forcing his children Beth (portrayed by Kelly Reilly), Kayce (Luke Grimes) and estranged son Jamie (Wes Bentley) to handle the aftermath.

Sheridan and Paramount are currently developing a show focused on Beth and her spouse Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), representing one of multiple Yellowstone offshoots designed to extend the successful franchise.

Their fellow cast member Finn Little, who plays young cowhand Carter, recently posted on Instagram with a significant announcement regarding the spin-off’s development, reports the Mirror.

The rising actor uploaded an image of himself wearing a cowboy hat, captioning it: “… So it is true!”. Little proceeded to add multiple hashtags, including “#filming” and “#inproduction”, verifying the cast is either actively shooting or will begin imminently.

Story specifics for the spin-off remain confidential, although Deadline has verified the show is provisionally called The Dutton Ranch and has revealed a compelling synopsis. It reads: “The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre ranch.

“With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

The show has also been confirmed to be bringing Oscar nominee Annette Bening into the cast as a competing ranch owner named Beulah Jackson. Beulah will undoubtedly stir up additional trouble for the Duttons as she moves in on their territory, though she’ll quickly learn that Beth and Rip are a formidable duo.

Beyond The Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone saga will also move forward with Y: Marshals on CBS, which will center on Beth’s brother Kayce. Additional projects in development include a Michelle Pfeiffer-fronted spin-off called The Madison, another prequel taking place in 1944 and a show based at the Four Sixes ranch.
