Erin Bates’ husband Chad Paine shared how their newborn son Henry has been doing amid the Bringing Up Bates alum’s hospitalization for childbirth complications.
Amid the Bringing Up Bates star’s hospitalization for complications related to the birth of her and husband Chad Paine‘s seventh baby, her loved ones have gathered to help care for the couple’s newborn son Henry.
“We have been completely overwhelmed by the love and support of family and friends during this difficult season,” Chad—who also shares children Carson, 10, Brooklyn, 8, Everly, 7, Holland, 5, Finley, 3, and William, 22 months, with Erin—wrote on Instagram Sept. 12. “From watching the kids and taking them on adventures, to helping with baby Henry and lifting Erin up with encouragement—you have carried us in ways we can’t even put into words.”
In addition to posting a photo of his wife of 11 years in her hospital bed, Chad shared images of Henry with what appeared to be a breathing tube in his nose. One picture showed Erin’s parents Gil Bates and Kelly Bates sitting next to the baby boy’s hospital crib, while Henry was held by his aunt Tori Bates Smith in another snapshot.
“Chad, your constant support & love of Erin has been such a huge blessing,” Gil and Kelly wrote in the comments. “And Erin, we’re still praying for a full recovery & answers!”
Describing the 34-year-old as “strong and brave,” the parents of 19 kids added, “We love you so much & we’d travel to the moon & back to get to be with you!”
Instagram/Erin BatesErin’s health declined shortly after giving birth to Henry on Aug. 25. As Chad, 38, previously explained on Instagram, the labor was “longer and more intense than previous births,” with Erin subsequently developing a “severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock.”
What’s worse, according to Gil and Kelly, her diagnosis “has changed several times” since she was admitted into the ICU.
Instagram/Erin Bates“She’d recover from one thing just to experience yet another complication,” they wrote on Instagram Stories Sept. 10. “It’s puzzled the doctors who’ve done a significant amount of testing, so without an exact diagnosis, & with her condition changing often, it’s been harder to share.”
And though there’s been “teary nights” for the family, Gil and Kelly said they’ve also “felt a deep gratitude for the love that has constantly surrounded us.”
