Tulsa King season 4 has been officially renewed at Paramount+, and a shock return is confirmed. The hit Taylor Sheridan crime drama stars Sylvester Stallone in his first leading role in a scripted TV show. He plays mafia capo Dwight Manfredi, who sets up a criminal organization in Tulsa, after being released from 25 years in prison in New York.
Per Deadline, the hit crime drama has received an official season 4 renewal, ahead of its season 3 premiere date of Sunday, September 21. What’s more, former showrunner Terence Winter, who stepped back from the role after season 1, is set to return as head writer and executive producer, replacing exiting showrunner Dave Erickson.
What This Means For Tulsa King Season 4

The fact that the show has been renewed is certainly a vote of confidence from Paramount+ and shows a vested interest from Stallone in trying to make the series a hit for as long as possible. The return of Winter is also a positive, and suggests he and Sheridan now have creative alignment, which should improve the show moving forward.
Winter brings a wealth of experience back to Tulsa King season 4, having been a writer on seasons 2 through 6 of The Sopranos. Having his skill set creatively is going to help the show evolve and improve, and could help to raise the stakes narratively while also increasing the likelihood that the show can continue for future seasons.
Our Take On Winter’s Tulsa King Season 4 Return

Winter returning to the show as head writer for season 4 means that the season could be tonally similar to the first, and might even revisit early story arcs. It will be interesting to see how the series evolves through season 3, and what the future holds for Tulsa King, especially with the Samuel L. Jackson-fronted NOLA King spinoff in development.
With the experience Winter has as a head writer, as well as the keen ear for dialog and comedy, as proven by his Oscar-nominated screenplay for The Wolf of Wall Street, Tulsa King season 4 should find its feet quickly. It’s a great chance to elevate the show and advance the storytelling, securing its status as one of Sheridan’s best shows.
