Erin Bates Paine On The Road To Recovery Following Seizure, ICU Stay
Erin Bates Paine and her husband, Chad Paine, announced earlier this year that they were expecting their seventh child, a boy they planned to name Henry. But what they didn’t plan was for Erin to develop life-threatening complications after the birth. She ended up in the ICU after having a seizure and going into septic shock due to a UTI and a bladder infection. Her son, Henry Blythe, was born prematurely and rushed to the NICU to gain his strength. After a three-week hospital stay, mom and baby were finally released last week.

She Shares More Of Baby’s Tender First Moments
Erin Bates Paine had six other children waiting for her at home. Her siblings and mom, Kelly Jo, have been around to help with childcare while she recovers from the traumatic birth. The Bringing Up Bates star and her husband kept fans updated all through the harrowing ordeal. Now that it is behind her, Erin Bates shared happier content on social media. She posted photos taken by her brother, Lawson Bates and his wife, Tiffany, of baby Henry while they were hospitalized. “Thank you, Jesus, for never leaving us,” she captioned the post.

Fan Begs Her Not To Have More Kids
One of Erin’s social media followers sparked controversy by begging her not to have more kids. The women in the Bates family have a history of developing complications after giving birth. “No disrespect to you but, please for your safety and health no more pregnancies,” the follower wrote. They were met with immediate backlash. One fan responded, “Well that is disrespectful. This is between husband and wife and God.”

- Another said, “The severe UTI and the kidney infection had nothing to do with Baby Henry being born”
- A third follower asked, “Are you her spiritual advisor? Do you not think she talks to her doctors? It’s none of your business!” Another follower said, “It’s nobody’s place to tell them no more children, stepping over the line.”
- But a second fan agreed that Erin Bates Paine and her husband should think long and hard before getting pregnant again. They wrote, “Is it worth dying over. She almost died one other time with heart issues after giving birth.”
The parents of seven have yet to reveal if they plan to continue having more children or if their family is complete with Henry’s arrival.
