Sam Elliott Drops Bombshell Update for Landman Fans

Fans of Landman just got the biggest update yet—and it didn’t come from Taylor Sheridan, Paramount+, or anyone behind the scenes. It came straight from Sam Elliott.

The star of the hit Paramount+ series seems to have revealed what the network has kept tightly under wraps: Landman is not only returning for season three, but production is already scheduled.

As speculation continues to swirl around the future of the Sheridan-verse—especially after the Yellowstone creator signed a massive new deal with NBCUniversal, reportedly worth more than $1 billion—fans have been waiting for any sign of where Landman stands. While the show has quickly become one of Paramount+’s top performers, no official announcement about future seasons has been released.

That is… until now.

Sam Elliott Says Season Three Is Happening

In a recent interview with ExtraTV, Elliott casually dropped what appears to be a major spoiler regarding the show’s future.

“I’m excited to see what unfolds in season three. I mean, we’re talking about season two, but that’s backstory for us at this point. We’re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season three,” Elliott said.

Not only did he confirm that season three exists, but he also revealed the filming window—April and May.

What This Means for Landman

If Elliott’s comments are accurate, it means the production timeline is already locked in and the green light for season three has been quietly issued behind the scenes. Paramount+ and Sheridan appear to be moving full steam ahead, even without a formal announcement.

Whether or not this reveal was meant to be made public remains unknown, but it certainly changes the conversation. Up to this point, fans only had theories—Elliott’s comments, however, sound like confirmation.

With filming reportedly beginning this spring, fans may not have to wait long for more official updates. One thing’s for sure: the world of Landman is far from slowing down.
