Taylor Sheridan Takes Aim At Woke College Culture In Landman’s Latest Must-See Episode
Taylor Sheridan has never been one to shy away from a cultural fight, and the penultimate episode of Landman Season 2 is no exception. In “Plans, Tears and Sirens,” the show moves from the oil fields to a TCU dorm room, introducing a new non-binary character that fans are calling a “scathing caricature” of modern woke culture.
It’s no secret that a number of Landman fans can’t stand Angela and Ainsley, the mother-daughter duo starring opposite Billy Bob Thornton’s lead character, Tommy Norris. Ainsley was certainly introduced to us in an unsettling fashion, especially if you’re a father to a little girl like I am.
However, throughout the show, her sweet, yet kind of naive, personality has grown on me and I find her rather endearing. And I’m not gonna lie, she’s easy on the eyes too… but that’s the gripe from fans, right? That Taylor Sheridan only knows how to write hot bimbos or raging b****es like Angela (or Beth Dutton).
But this scene here… k!lled me.

Ainsley meets her new “they/them” roommate at TCU, Paigyn, and it’s just a painfully comical, nearly infuriating, scene as Paigyn explains how she’s a vegan, uses special “they/them” pronouns, hates men, is triggered by the word penetrate” because it reminds her of the patriarchy, hates leather shoes, hates air fresheners (which is ironic because she has a pet ferret), and demands that the room becomes a “safe space.”
She’s even from Minneapolis… too perfect.
Ainsley tries to be nice, but is met with bitterness and hostility, and eventually goes to the school administrator where she is made to feel like a bad person for seeing the world differently than Paigyn. And that’s exactly what you’d get at most colleges in America, especially the Ivy League, but TCU? I don’t about that one…
Obviously, it’s a little heavy handed to prove a point… how utterly delusional these people are where you hear it all out loud, but the sad part is that… is it really that exaggerated? This level of hyper-woke brain rot is so pervasive on the progressive Left. There’s absolutely people who live like this, way more than you think. It’s frightening, really.
Some fans were a little too dumb to understand that Sheridan was mocking these insufferable clowns, and got mad that the show was featuring such a woke roommate, but for the majority of fans who could understand the obvious… they loved it. Of course, folks on Reddit were offended, but… you know why…
Hollywood has made fun of Conservatives and Christians for years now… it’s nice to finally see the show on the other foot for once.
