Landman Season 2 wrapped up with big changes to the role of Billy Bob Thornton‘s Tommy Norris in the West Texas oilfields. We will get to see how these changes affect the characters when the show returns for a third season. Paramount+ announced Season 3 on December 5, midway through the airing of the second season. For the better part of the series, Tommy served as the landman and later as the president of the oil company, M-Tex. That was until he was fired from the role by Demi Moore‘s Cami in the ninth episode of Season 2. In the season finale, aired on January 18th, Tommy starts a new rival oil company to M-Tex and poaches a few of the M-Tex employees.
Also dealing with their own personal dramas at the end of the season are Jacob Lofland‘s Cooper and Paulina Chavez’s Ariana. Cooper beats a man who attempts to s*xually assault Ariana. He was almost charged with murder after the man died from a heart attack at the hospital, but Tommy and Sheriff Walt Joeberg convinced the police chief not to press charges. Paramount+ has yet to officially announce the cast of the third season. However, the main stars of the show are definitely returning to the new season to continue their storyline. Here are the actors who are confirmed to return to Season 3.
Billy Bob Thornton
Billy Bob Thornton is expected to return to his character as Tommy. There is going to be some major drama after Cami finds out what Tommy has been up to ever since she fired him. Thornton recently revealed to Men’s Journal that he didn’t “know anything” about Season 3. He shared: Taylor [Sheridan] plays it very close to the vest. He doesn’t tell any of us what he’s up to. He’ll probably tell me, maybe after I get the first script. Then he’ll tell me a few things that are going to happen.
It appears that Thornton has signed on to multiple seasons of Landman. He confirmed to THR back in November 2025 that he had signed on for four or five years of the show. He added that he would appear in the show “as long as I’m able, I want to do it. Or, until the story runs out.”
Demi Moore
Demi Moore, who plays the all-powerful M-Tex boss Cami Miller, went on to play a major role in Season 2. Jon Hamm played her deceased husband and the previous owner of M-Tex, Monty Miller, in Season 1. Moore’s character was playing a bit of second fiddle to Monty in the first season. However, she has become a formidable force in the second season. While some fans expect her to have a meaty role in the upcoming season, others expect that she will exit her role as a series regular. Hamm is not expected to return to the third season.
Ali Larter
Ali Larter, who plays Tommy’s ex-wife Angela, took to Instagram to celebrate the renewal. It appears that she is also returning to the third season. She wrote: So excited to announce we are coming back for season 3! Thank you to the fans that have made Landman such a massive success. Honored to work on this show with such exceptional actors and crew. Heart is full.
The series will be incomplete without Tommy dealing with all the headaches that Angela and their daughter bring him in the third season.
Michelle Randolph
Michelle Randolph played the controversial character of Tommy’s daughter, Ainsley, in the series. In the season finale, we saw Ainsley struggling to adjust to college life. By the end of the episode, she has made a few friends in her cheerleading team. Since the show has tied up her character’s arc nicely in Season 2, it appears that she might have a reduced role in the upcoming season. Randolph shared with co-star Moore during their conversation on Interview Magazine that she loved playing the character. She shared: How lucky to play a character who is continually evolving. It’s challenged me in a lot of ways — what is on the page is so different than what you see on screen. I’ve tried to add in how genuine and sincere she is so there are more redeeming qualities.
Her character faced brutal criticism due to her controversial scenes in the show. However, Randolph defended her character, sharing, “I like to say she’s not dumb, she just has limited life experience, and we’re seeing her in her most formative years.”
Andy Garcia
Going into the third season, Andy Garcia‘s cartel boss Danny “Gallino” Morrell will have a more prominent role. Especially after the deal that Tommy made with him. During the season finale, Tommy convinces Gallino to leave Cami’s M-Tex and invest in his new oil company, CTT. Tommy understands the danger in dealing with a cartel boss, and fans can expect things to go south between these characters.
Jacob Lofland
Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris has become a more interesting character in Season 2. It isn’t just his relationship with his father Tommy that interests the audience. His relationship with Paulina Chavez’s Ariana was at the center of the drama in the final episodes of the second season. With Cooper taking on the role of President of his father’s new company, he is about to face some major troubles in his professional life.
Paulina Chavez
As mentioned earlier, fans would love to see where Cooper and Ariana’s relationship is headed in the series. Some fans even suspect that Chavez might not survive the events of the upcoming season.
Kayla Wallace
Kayla Wallace plays Rebecca Falcone, who becomes the in-house counsel for M-Tex Oil. In the Season 2 finale, she becomes the chief operating officer and chief counsel of Tommy’s new company. She also steps in when Cooper is taken into custody for assaulting Ariana’s assailant. Fans would want to see more of her in Season 3.
Sam Elliott
Sam Elliott was a surprising addition to Season 2 as Tommy’s father. He has already confirmed that he has signed a two-year contract for Landman, suggesting that he will appear in the upcoming season. He shared with ExtraTV ahead of Paramount+’s Season 3 renewal: I’m excited to see what unfolds in season 3. I mean, we’re talking about season 2, but that’s backstory for us at this point. We’re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season 3.
We will probably get to see more of the father-son drama in the upcoming season.
Other Returning Cast Members in Landman Season 3
Other allies of Tommy, including Nate, Dale, Sheriff Walt Joeberg, and Cooper’s crew members, Boss and BR, are expected to return to the new season. Actors Colm Feore, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Mustafa Speaks, and Caleb Martin will likely reprise their roles in the third season of Landman. The second season premiere episode set a viewership record for Paramount+, achieving over 9.2 million streaming views (via EW). It was a 262% increase over the first season premiere of the show. It was the No.1 on Nielsen’s Weekly Streaming Top 10 last week (via TheWrap). What do you think of the returning cast for Landman Season 3? Let us know in the comments below!
