The emotional series brought in over 8 million views in the first 10 days.
The Madison might be drawing criticism for being slower-paced and more emotional than any of Taylor Sheridan’s other projects, but it appears fans are all for it. As it turns out, more people have tuned in to the first season of the heart-wrenching series than any other show Taylor’s ever created.
On Thursday, March 26, Paramount announced that The Madison—boasting 8 million global views within 10 days of the March 14 premiere—marks the most-watched first-season launch for any Taylor Sheridan series. But that’s not all. The Madison is also ushering in more women than ever before.
According to Paramount, the six episodes of Season 1 dialed up viewership among women 35+, cementing the series as the most successful freshman season of any of Taylor’s shows among the demographic.
Considering The Madison focuses on a family of women as they beautifully navigate the juxtaposition of life in serene, sprawling Montana and glitzy, bustling Manhattan, all while deeply leaning into emotional processing and grief, it’s no surprise that the series intrigues women more than some of Taylor’s more traditionally masculine storylines.
“I love all of Taylor’s shows, but this is by far his BEST!! The writing is amazing and really captures what it is to experience grief and lose the core of your family,” one fan commented on Instagram.
“Never thought a show could hit as hard as it did. I am a widow, and although my story is very different, this show captures every raw emotion with grief. Everything about The Madison is beyond Beautiful! Bravo to everyone [who] plays a part in bringing this to life,” another fan wrote.
“Give Michelle all the awards,” someone else chimed in.
“Love this show! It has a powerhouse of emotions! The acting is superb, I can relate so much to the character as I am sure so many other women can when the person they loved with all their hearts are taken suddenly! One never really gets over that kind of emotional [hole] in your heart,” another Instagrammer remarked.
The good news is, Season 2 has already been green-lit, not to mention fully filmed. So, it’s only a matter of time before we find out what happens next on The Madison.
