Yellowstone’s Beth and Rip Spin-Off Gets Exciting Update With Months Before Release Date
Filming has reportedly recommenced on the debut season of Yellowstone’s forthcoming sequel series, The Dutton Ranch. Set to launch on Paramount+ in 2026, the contemporary Western will feature Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser returning as Montana’s formidable power couple, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.
The series will explore the aftermath of Beth’s ranch magnate father John Dutton’s death (portrayed by Kevin Costner), as the couple navigate fresh challenges whilst raising their adopted son Carter (Finn Little).
Work on the series began last year, and Collider has now verified that cameras are rolling again in Fort Worth following the winter hiatus. According to reports, local casting advertisements have confirmed that production has restarted on both The Dutton Ranch and Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed military thriller Lioness, reports the Express.
Extras are apparently being sought for crucial sequences in both programmes. Regrettably, viewers remain uncertain about the precise premiere date for the Yellowstone spin-off after Paramount discreetly pushed the launch window from 2025 to 2026.
There’s speculation the series may not debut until later in the year, though fans can at least look forward to the forthcoming Marshals, starring Luke Grimes as Beth’s brother Kayce, arriving this March to satisfy their Yellowstone cravings. The official synopsis for The Dutton Ranch states: “Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch.
“With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
The programme has recently welcomed Hollywood actor Jai Courtney to the cast as a fresh addition to the ranch crew. Courtney previously appeared alongside Yellowstone’s Hassie Harrison in the thriller Dangerous Animals. High-profile stars Ed Harris and Annette Bening have also joined the production.
While fans face a considerable wait for fresh episodes, 2026 promises to be a thrilling year for Yellowstone devotees, with another spin-off series, The Madison, already well into filming.
It’s been revealed that a second series was shot before the first has even reached screens, with the new drama fronted by Michelle Pfeiffer also targeting a launch later this year. Hollywood legends Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams and Beau Garrett will also feature in the series, which follows an affluent New York family who move to the Madison River valley in central Montana.
The Dutton Ranch will launch in 2026 on Paramount+.
