Country Star Riley Green Is Headed to the Yellowstone Universe in Luke Grimes’ Marshals
It looks like Riley Green might be entering the Yellowstone universe. While it’s been rumored that Kelsey Asbille, the actress who played Kayce Dutton’s wife, Monica, won’t be appearing in the upcoming spinoff, Marshals, an “Ol’ Stray Dog” might be. We have all the details below.
Fans May Have Spotted Riley Green in the Trailer
Formerly known as Y: Marshals, the latest series from Taylor Sheridan follows Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) in some action-packed adventures. Here is the description from the show’s website:
“With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
With the show’s premiere arriving soon, Sunday, March 1, on CBS, fans are poring over every frame of the latest trailer. Well, some eagle-eyed fans spotted what might be a familiar face.
Zip over to 1:39, and you’ll see a familiar mustache playing a guitar. Many think it bears a striking resemblance to Green. While some outlets report that it is the “Worst Way” singer, the singer’s IMDb page, along with the one for the series itself, doesn’t confirm his appearance.
However, Green shared last year that he would be making his television acting debut soon.
“I need to actually sit down and talk to somebody about what I’m allowed to say,” he said. “I’ll just guess I’m allowed to say that I have done some acting, and it’s a show, and it’s going to be airing sometime fairly soon.”
If There A Country Star Isn’t Making a Cameo, Then Is It a “Yellowstone” Spinoff?
Green has credited Yellowstone with making country music popular again. It doesn’t hurt that plenty of stars have made appearances on the show and its spinoffs. Lainey Wilson appeared as a musician named “Abby” during the fifth season of the original series. In addition, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill made appearances on the show’s prequel, 1883. Incidentally, the couple’s daughter, Audrey, appears on Sheridan’s other series, Landman. If that’s Green in the Marshals trailer, it looks like he’s joining some good company.
