Landman season three is set to start filming this year and people have been left wondering what the fate of Cami, portrayed by Demi Moore, will be after a turbulent second season. Landman has become a fan-favorite on Paramount+ after its first two seasons premiered and now fans are looking forward to the upcoming third.
And there have been rumors aplenty if some of the show’s main characters are set to return, including Billy Bob Thornton, who recently spoke out on reports with a fiery message.
The series, co-created by Taylor Sheridan, who created the hit show Yellowstone, takes place in West Texas and focuses on the oil business as oil rigs start to become a cash cow in the state. Demi Moore plays Cami, the wife of Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), the former owner of M-Tex Oil until his death at the end of the first season of the show. Cami took over the company the next season and continuously clashed with Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) as he becomes the president of the company.
Cami fires Tommy for not backing her controversial business decisions, and the second season ends with Tommy starting a new venture. The fate of Cami and her company’s future is left up in the air—but series co-creator Christian Wallace teased the future of Demi’s character in a recent interview.
“I think there are so many different opportunities and ways this can play out,” he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “At the end of the day, I’m putting my trust in Taylor [Sheridan] and his decisions for all of these characters’ storylines. That one is above my pay grade.”
Billy Bob Thornton shared his desire for his character’s plot-line in a recent interview. His character has been reconnecting with his former spouse, Angela (Ali Larter).
The former flame of Angelina Jolie said, “I think I would just like to see Ali and I get remarried.” He was asked if the couple’s second wedding would be lavish, he said, “Oh, if she had anything to do with it? It would absolutely be a big affair, trust me.”
Angela left her affluent husband to be with her former partner, and their daughter, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), also rejoined them. Their son Cooper (Jacob Lofland) has been keeping his distance, though, as he starts a relationship with the recently widowed Ariana (Paulina Chavez).
Not only could there be drama in store for Cami and Tommy, but another controversial character could also be making their way into season three. Bobbi Salvör Menuez portrays Paigyn, the non-binary roommate of Tommy’s daughter, Ainsley, at college.
Fans debated online about how the show handled the character’s use of they/them pronouns, and character Angela said Paigyn must “hate themselves.” But even though Paigyn and Ainsley started off on the wrong foot, the relationship between them changed in the season two finale.
In an interview with Deadline, the actor said, “I have no idea what’s happening for season three, and my hope is that I get to be a part of it.”
