‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 Is Coming! Sylvester Stallone Shares First Look: Everything to Know

Sylvester Stallone is coming back Sooner rather than later (get it?)

Tulsa King, the popular crime dramedy from star Sylvester Stallone and creator Taylor Sheridan, is coming back for Season 3. Well, we’re 99% sure it is. Paramount+ has not officially confirmed the renewal, but a new season is in the works according to people involved with the show. As a matter of fact, Deadline reports that the show has pretty much already been renewed through Season 4 thanks to a deal with Stallone. Here’s everything we know so far about Tulsa King Season 3.

Tulsa King Season 3 latest news

A new image from Tulsa King season 3 reveals a first look at Samuel L. Jackson with Sylvester Stallone in the pair’s debut project together. Tulsa King season 3 is set to introduce Jackson as a new character in the series, the seasoned actor reportedly playing Russell Lee Washington Jr. The newcomer is allegedly going to come into conflict with Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi across multiple episodes of the show. Their time together on the show also marks their first ever project together. However, it won’t last forever, since Jackson will be leading a spinoff series, NOLA King, after season 3.

Now, Stallone has released an image of him and Jackson on the set of Tulsa King season 3, the pair dressed as their respective characters while looking into the camera. In his caption, the series star explains how much he enjoyed working with the newcomer, indicating just how important both stars’ interactions onscreen are going to be for the upcoming episodes. Tulsa King Season 3 premiere date

We don’t know when Tulsa King Season 3 will premiere, but we can speculate based on Season 2’s timeline. That season filmed from April to August 2024 and premiered that September. So if the show starts filming in March and follows a similar schedule, it will premiere in the fall. But nothing is confirmed, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Tulsa King Season 3 production

Tulsa King‘s first season was actually filmed in Oklahoma, but the production moved to the Atlanta area starting in Season 2.

There are some behind the scenes changes for Season 3. Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire), who served as writer and executive producer in Seasons 1 and 2, left Tulsa King to develop a series based on the life of mobster Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano for FX. His replacement in the writers’ room has not been named. Craig Zisk (Weeds) serves as lead director and executive producer. Other EPs include David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Braden Aftergood, and Keith Cox. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, which also produce Sheridan’s other shows, including Yellowstone. Deadline reports that Stallone will be paid over $1.5 million per episode for his work on Tulsa King.

Paramount+ has not yet announced the official Season 3 cast, but we expect the Season 2 cast to return and some new cast members to be added as Dwight’s new enemies reveal themselves.

  • Sylvester Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi
  • Max Casella as Armand Truisi, a not totally reliable member of Dwight’s crew

Tulsa King Season 3 plot

Tulsa King season 2 ended with Dwight’s businesses going legit, giving him a legal cover for any unethical actions he takes with the business in the future. He was also kidnapped by a mysterious, potentially government, organization, setting the stage for what season 3 will bring about for him. But Jackson’s character is also going to be a key part of what transpires, since he’s trying to build his own criminal empire. This is likely what will put him in the core group’s crosshairs as he tries to build something in Oklahoma for himself.

However, since Jackson will be leading NOLA King in the near future, his conflict with Dwight probably isn’t going to continue beyond season 3. Whether this means he’ll ally himself with Stallone and other characters in Tulsa King or not is unclear. But, with the actors working together for the first time in their careers, the storyline their criminal leaders go through will likely lay the groundwork for the spinoff. The exact nature of how that will play out, though, remains unclear.
