Now, Sheridan’s drama series Landman, which premiered on Paramount+ last November, has hit the ground running with Season 2, with filming having now begun. According to a report by Variety, not only has Landman Season 2 now started production, but the series has also added a major Hollywood icon, and Oscar nominee to the roster, bringing Demi Moore back for a much more prominent role this time around.
Moore, who played a smaller supporting role in Landman Season 1 as Cami Miller, the wife of oil company owner Monty Miller, played by Jon Hamm, will now be “second billed” just behind lead actor Billy Bob Thornton. The first season received some criticism for wasting the talents of Moore and, according to co-creator Christian Wallace, this is something that Landman Season 2 will rectify.
“There is a lot more story left to tell with Cami. Taylor has big plans, that’s all I’m going to say.”
‘Landman’ Was Another Massive Hit for Taylor Sheridan & Paramount
Created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman is inspired by Wallace’s podcast “Boomtown,” and stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, an old-school landman for an oil company. Despite somewhat mixed reviews, the series has been another huge hit for both Sheridan and Paramount, landing 14.6 million viewers in its first week and becoming one of the streamer’s biggest debuts in years. You can check out the official synopsis for Landman below.
“In the heart of Texas, roughnecks and billionaires try to get rich quick in the oil industry; Tommy Norris, a struggling executive, tries to take his company to the top during the fuel boom.”
