Landman Season 2 Shocker: Monty Miller’s Villainous Truth Revealed
Landman season 2 deals with the fallout of Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) being a villain all along. One of the biggest hits on Paramount+, Landman season 2 premieres Sunday, November 16, with Monty’s widow, Cami Miller (Demi Moore), stepping up alongside series lead Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton). Monty Miller was the President and CEO of M-Tex, but he was a background character in Landman season 1 despite Jon Hamm’s star power. Monty was usually seen on the phone with Tommy, who was boots on the ground solving problems as M-Tex’s landman.
It was clear, however, that Monty was very sick. Miller was often traveling, attending meetings, and regularly dealing with stresses and pressures beyond his career. Landman season 1 revealed that Monty had a heart condition; upon his death, Monty named Tommy the new President of M-Tex.
Landman Season 2 Deals With Jon Hamm Being A Villain All Along
Landman season 2 deals with the fallout of the truth about Monty Miller: He was a criminal. In Landman season 2’s trailer, Cami, who now owns M-Tex, went through Monty’s email and files, and learned the shocking details of Monty’s illegal acts:
“Embezzlement, insurance fraud, wire fraud.”
Monty was up to dirty deeds throughout Landman season 1, and for years before, concealing everything from Tommy and Cami. Monty’s widow and former right-hand now have to own up to Monty’s criminal acts to M-Tex’s corporate board. Worse, more enemies are circling M-Tex, which is being run by Monty’s landman and “trophy wife”: The federal government is going after Cami and Tommy, while Gallino (Andy Garcia), the gangster who saved Tommy’s life in Landman season 1’s finale, wants his pound of flesh from Norris too.
Landman Season 2 Is Changing For The Better

Landman season 2 expanding its scope to more corporate intrigue is a smart move. Not only does it bring Demi Moore’s Cami center stage, but it gives M-Tex’s legal representation, Rebecca Falcone (Kayla Wallace) and Nathan (Colm Feore), more screen time and an epic crisis to deal with.
Landman pleasingly balances Tommy’s boots-on-the-ground work as a landman, which now involves teaching his prodigal son, Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland), and Norris family drama with Tommy’s wife, Angela (Ali Larter), and daughter, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph).
Sam Elliot also joins Landman season 2 as Tommy’s father as well. Sam Elliott isn’t just stunt casting; Tommy’s mysterious father will play a key role in what comes next at M-Tex. However, Tommy Norris and Cami Miller trying to right the wrongs Monty Miller left behind is a crackerjack story for Landman season 2. What other crimes Monty left behind make the sophomore season of Paramount+’s monster hit even more compelling.
