It was clear, however, that Monty was very sick. Miller was often traveling, attending meetings, and regularly dealing with stresses and pressures beyond his career. Landman season 1 revealed that Monty had a heart condition; upon his death, Monty named Tommy the new President of M-Tex.

Landman Season 2 Is Changing For The Better
Landman season 2 expanding its scope to more corporate intrigue is a smart move. Not only does it bring Demi Moore’s Cami center stage, but it gives M-Tex’s legal representation, Rebecca Falcone (Kayla Wallace) and Nathan (Colm Feore), more screen time and an epic crisis to deal with.
Landman pleasingly balances Tommy’s boots-on-the-ground work as a landman, which now involves teaching his prodigal son, Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland), and Norris family drama with Tommy’s wife, Angela (Ali Larter), and daughter, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph).
Sam Elliot also joins Landman season 2 as Tommy’s father as well. Sam Elliott isn’t just stunt casting; Tommy’s mysterious father will play a key role in what comes next at M-Tex. However, Tommy Norris and Cami Miller trying to right the wrongs Monty Miller left behind is a crackerjack story for Landman season 2.
