‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 4 Trailer: Jeremy Renner Faces New Enemies, Edie Falco’s Debut

Edie Falco’s addition is already breathing new life into the Jeremy Renner–led prison drama.

Jeremy Renner faces off against new enemies in Season 4 of “Mayor of Kingstown,” as new players vie for power in the fictional Michigan town in the Russians’ wake.

Paramount+ released the trailer for the upcoming season of the crime drama, which returns on the streamer on Oct. 26. From “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, “Mayor of Kingstown” features “Hurt Locker” and “Avengers” Renner star alongside a decorated ensemble that includes Edie Falco, Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley and Nishi Munshi.

Mayor of Kingstown looks primed to unleash its best story yet. But why now? Four seasons into the Jeremy Renner–led prison drama, why is the series hitting such exciting new territory? I’ll let Edie Falco tell you why. “This is my castle now,” the Sopranos actor says as she introduces herself as the new warden in the season 4 trailer. “Do we understand each other?”

This is exactly the jolt that Mayor of Kingstown needs. Following season 3’s confusing Russian-conspiracy plots and a horrific snowplow accident that almost ended Renner’s life, the Paramount+ series returns this fall with what seems like the perfect reset. And if season 4’s teaser is anything to work from, that means putting the focus back on the prisons. You can watch the new trailer below.

What This Trailer Means For Mayor of Kingstown Season 4

Having only recently dealt with one crisis, taking care of Milo’s return in season 3, Mike now looks set to face two new threats in Mayor of Kingstown season 4. Falco’s warden, Nina Hobbs, seems like she doesn’t suffer fools lightly and appears to have little time for Mike, aiming to remove his influence over the gangs in the prison.

That also comes at a harrowing time as Kyle is now locked up in said prison after the season 3 ending. Police officers entering the prison has been shown to turn fatal in Mayor of Kingstown‘s past, and if Renner’s character is no longer pulling strings inside, his younger brother could find himself in the crosshairs of someone looking to send a message.

Elsewhere, Frank Moses arriving in town brings a new deadly threat that Mike is going to have to deal with, as the town edges ever closer to war. Season 4 could be where Mayor of Kingstown really embraces the chaos, and Mike’s attempts to keep a lid on the chaos around him fail, with things boiling over and potentially devastating consequences.
