New Look at Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ Season 2 Teases the Fate of Tommy Norris

Landman Season 2 is right around the corner, and while marketing for the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit series intensifies, Paramount has just teased the fate of Billy Bob Thornton’s character, Tommy Norris, in Season 2.

The official Landman Instagram account released a new poster for Landman Season 2, showing Thornton’s Tommy Norris standing in the middle of several burning oil rigs while taking off his hat. This could be nothing more than aesthetically pleasing, or it could be subtle foreshadowing to the end of Tommy Norris in Season 2, as Season 3 has not yet been announced. Landman Season 2 will be released on November 16.

While it’s unlikely that Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris dies in Landman Season 2, it’s impossible to completely rule it out. Landman Season 1 killed off Jon Hamm’s character, Monty Miller, who was a massive part of marketing the show’s first season.

Demi Moore’s Cami Miller is poised to take Monty’s spot and work closely alongside Tommy in Season 2, and she may be forced to take over things by herself in a potential third season. Other shows like Game of Thrones have also killed off beloved characters in early seasons, and now that Tommy is involved even deeper with the cartels, his life is expected to be in constant danger.

While Taylor Sheridan fans wait for Landman Season 2, there’s plenty to watch in the meantime. The third season of Tulsa King premiered last month and is now in full swing. The Sylvester Stallone-led series has also been renewed for Season 4. The long-awaited fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown even premiered on Paramount+ just yesterday, and the show stars Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco.

Taylor Sheridan Is Leaving Paramount

Just last night, it was reported that after years of exclusive collaboration, Taylor Sheridan is finally leaving Paramount. There have been signs that this was coming in recent months, as Sheridan has been building his own massive empire in Texas, with production studios capable of housing his shows and plenty of others.

Sheridan’s new home reportedly lies at NBCUniversal, and his contractual obligations to Paramount will be completely fulfilled by the end of 2028. This means in only a few years, all of Sheridan’s shows will likely have a new streaming home, and while the situation is still in very early dealings, it’s easy to see things are going to be different moving forward.
