Landman may start filming later in the year due to how hot it can get in Texas during the summer, which makes life tough for the cast
Sorry Landman fans, but it looks like filming for season three could be delayed. Taylor Sheridan is known to favor Texas as his preferred recording location. However, Texas can can get swelteringly hot during the summer months. For that reason, the production team is weighing up the benefits of filming later in the year.
“When we get back into production this year, it’s going to be pretty full on, and just getting hotter,” co-creator Christian Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter in January. “That’s the big struggle from a production standpoint for us being on set every day. We have so many exteriors. And that’s a good thing because this show thrives in the dust and the heat and the reality of that gritty, hot world. But it is hard on the crew and cast, and on everybody. Twelve-hour days in 100-plus degree weather is no joke. But that is our cross to bear, not the audiences”
Waiting the few extra months could be a smart play. It would mean more modest weather conditions, and in turn, potentially less takes. After all, if fans want the show to keep running for years, the cast and crew need to be protected from some of the hottest days in the country.
Landman Continues To Dominate the Streaming Charts
The streaming charts are usually dominated by Netflix and HBO Max. They’re the most established platforms on th internet and regularly fill up the top-10 leaderboard for streaming numbers. However, Paramount+ is slowly chipping away at that stronghold with some stellar programming.
And, for two weeks to begin 2026, Landman sat firmly atop of the streaming charts, per “The Wrap.”
Landman even held off competition from super-duo of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, with their new Netflix movie, The Rip.
With shows such as Landman, Tulsa King, and School Spirits, Paramount+ is rapidly establishing itself as one of the best streaming platforms in the world. So, even if Landman starts filimg a little later than usual, we can rest assured it will have a gigantic audience once it returns to our screens for season 3.
